📍 Location Data

The App requires the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION permission. On Android 10 and above, this permission is strictly required by the Android operating system to allow the App to read the SSID (Wi-Fi Name) and BSSID of the network you are connected to.

• We do NOT track your physical location.
• We do NOT store or transmit your location coordinates to any server.

📶 Network Information

To perform its core function, the App scans your local network to identify connected devices. This involves reading IP addresses, hostnames, and network signatures.

• This information stays entirely on your device.
• We do not upload your network map or device list to any external servers.

💾 Local Preferences

The App stores your chosen settings (such as notification toggles and device limits) locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your phone.

2. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:

💰 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data such as your device's Advertising ID and general device information to provide personalized ads.

• You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Android System Settings.

3. Permissions Explained

• INTERNET: Used to load AdMob advertisements.
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to detect if you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to alert you when a scan completes or when intruders are detected (Android 13+).
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Required by Android to identify your current Wi-Fi network identity.

4. Children’s Privacy

The App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.

6. Legal Disclaimer & Authorized Use

Wi-Fi Device Detector is designed strictly for network diagnostic, personal security auditing, and informational purposes. By using this App, you agree to the following terms and disclaimers:

• Authorized Use Only: You represent and warrant that you own, operate, or have obtained explicit authorization and legal consent from the network owner to perform network scans, port discovery, camera detection, and diagnostic checks on any network you assess using this App. Scanning networks without authorization may violate local, national, or international computer fraud and cybersecurity laws.
• No Warranty on Security Assessment: While the App utilizes standard protocols (ARP discovery, mDNS, NetBIOS, ICMP ping, and port probing) to detect connected devices and assess network status, the resulting "Network Safety Score", vulnerability indicators, and camera finder results are automated estimates provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The App does not guarantee the detection of all potential security vulnerabilities, stealth devices, or unauthorized network intrusions.
• No Tampering or Network Alteration: The App does not crack passwords, bypass network access controls, intercept private packet payloads, or alter router firmware. Any external configuration changes made by the user (such as altering router passwords, firewall rules, or blocking devices via router web interfaces) are performed at the user's sole discretion and risk.
• Limitation of Liability: Under no circumstances shall the developers or distributors of Wi-Fi Device Detector be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, loss of data, network downtime, or legal claims arising from the use or misuse of the App, its diagnostics, or reports generated thereby.
