1 Overview & Developer Identity

Welcome to Smart Ruler Pro (the "Application"), developed, published, and maintained by Shuttle Technologies ("Developer", "we", "our", or "us").

Shuttle Technologies is committed to upholding the highest standards of digital privacy, data security, and consumer trust. This Privacy Policy and Legal Terms document governs your use of the Application and clearly outlines our strict on-device data processing model, system permissions justification, advertising disclosures, and legal terms of use.

Core Privacy Principle: Smart Ruler Pro operates fundamentally as an offline, on-device utility. We do not operate user accounts, cloud tracking databases, remote logging servers, or behavioral monitoring profiles.

2 Zero Personal Data Collection (Strictly On-Device Processing)

We believe your physical measurements and device environment are strictly private. The Application is engineered from the ground up to ensure zero transmission of user-generated data:

3 Android System Permissions & Purpose

To deliver laboratory-grade tactile feedback, display calibration, and non-intrusive operations, Smart Ruler Pro declares only essential permissions. Each declared permission is strictly justified below:

Permission Name API Scope Technical Purpose & Legal Justification
android.permission.INTERNET Network Required solely for Google AdMob SDK network communications to load advertisements and Google Play Store redirection links.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Network State Enables the Google AdMob SDK to check whether an active internet connection is available before requesting ads, conserving device battery and mobile data.
android.permission.VIBRATE Hardware / Haptics Used strictly to invoke tactile micro-haptic tick pulses (via Vibrator / VibratorManager) as calipers slide across millimeter and inch graduation marks. Can be disabled anytime in Settings.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK Power Management Enables the user-controlled "Keep Screen Awake" preference (FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON) so the display does not timeout or dim while the user is actively measuring physical objects.

Smart Ruler Pro does not request high-risk permissions such as RECORD_AUDIO, CAMERA, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, READ_CONTACTS, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, or POST_NOTIFICATIONS.

4 Local Storage & User Data Ownership

Smart Ruler Pro saves application preferences (such as selected unit type, visual theme mode, tactile haptic toggles, screen-awake state, and hardware calibration scale factors) exclusively in local, sandboxed Android SharedPreferences.

5 Third-Party Advertising & Google AdMob Disclosure

To support ongoing engineering, compatibility updates with modern Android versions (including API Level 36), and free distribution, Smart Ruler Pro displays banner and native ads via the Google AdMob SDK (provided by Google LLC).

For complete details on Google's data practices, please review the Google Advertising Privacy & Terms.

6 Children's Privacy (COPPA & Global Standards)

Smart Ruler Pro is a technical measuring instrument intended for general audiences, professionals, technicians, students, and craftsmen. It is not targeted at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain European jurisdictions).

We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or store personal information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information to third-party ad networks through our application without consent, please contact us immediately, and we will take necessary measures to assist.

7 Statutory Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Depending on your geographic residency, you are entitled to specific statutory privacy rights under regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

8 Comprehensive Legal Disclaimer & Precision Notice

GENERAL REFERENCE & INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY: Smart Ruler Pro utilizes the consumer-grade capacitive touch digitizer, glass surface, and firmware display metrics (xdpi/ydpi) of your mobile phone. While our dual-caliper and 1-touch card calibration algorithms achieve sub-millimeter digital resolution, mobile devices are inherently subject to physical constraints, glass thickness, parallax error, capacitive touch interpolation tolerances, and screen protector interference.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & "AS IS" PROVISION: THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, PRECISION, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHUTTLE TECHNOLOGIES, ITS DEVELOPERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR REGULATORY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, INABILITY TO USE, OR RELIANCE UPON MEASUREMENTS, ANGLES, OR CALCULATIONS OBTAINED FROM THIS APPLICATION.

Non-Admissibility Notice: Data, screenshots, or measurements generated by Smart Ruler Pro may not be utilized as certified judicial, forensic, building inspection, or contractual evidence in contentious legal or regulatory proceedings.

9 Terms of Use & Intellectual Property

All title, ownership rights, intellectual property, source code, visual design systems, vector caliper assets, brand logos (including AppLogo), themes, and algorithms in Smart Ruler Pro remain the exclusive property of Shuttle Technologies.
