            Summary: ScanFlow AI values your privacy above all. All OCR text extraction, document processing, PDF generation, translations, and encrypted vault storage are performed 100% on-device. We do not transmit or store your personal documents on any remote server.
        

1. Information We Collect & Use

ScanFlow AI is designed as a privacy-first, on-device document utility. We collect minimal data necessary for app functionality:

Camera Data: Used strictly when you capture document pages using the ML Kit Document Scanner. Images are processed locally on your device and are never sent to external servers.
Storage & Local Files: Used to save generated PDFs, scanned images, and extracted text locally in your device's private storage directory.
Encrypted Vault Data: Documents added to your Secure Vault are encrypted using AES-256 GCM encryption via Android Jetpack Security (EncryptedSharedPreferences & Android KeyStore). Encryption keys remain strictly inside your device's hardware security module.

2. On-Device Machine Learning (ML Kit)

ScanFlow AI utilizes Google ML Kit (Text Recognition, Document Scanner, ML Translate) for intelligent document processing. All machine learning inferences occur locally on your smartphone's chipset without uploading image or text data to cloud endpoints.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertisements

ScanFlow AI integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to provide free app services. AdMob may collect non-identifiable device identifiers and diagnostic metadata in accordance with Google Play Advertising Policies.

4. Device Permissions

The app requests the following Android permissions solely for core features:

CAMERA: To scan physical documents & receipts.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To import image documents from gallery.
USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT: To authenticate access to your Secure Vault locally.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To notify you when background OCR processing completes.

5. Children's Privacy

ScanFlow AI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The application is a general-purpose productivity utility suitable for all users.

6. Data Security & Retention

Because your documents remain on your physical device, you maintain complete ownership and control over retention. Deleting a document or clearing app cache permanently removes the files from your device.
